Argentina thanks ALBA support over Malvinas Islands issue

Caracas, 04 Feb. AVN.- Argentinean Foreign Minister Hector Timerman will attend the encounter of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), which will be held in Venezuela next Sunday 05, to thank the regional bloc for the support expressed to the South American country after the recent aggressions of England claiming the Malvinas Islands.

A press release of Argentina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religion reads "Timerman will arrive in Venezuela to express personally to the present presidents and foreign ministers the appreciation of our Government to countries of the region for their strong support to the legitimate rights of the Republic of Argentina in the dispute for sovereignty over the Malvinas, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands and surrounding sea territories."

Last Friday took place in Caracas the first meeting of ALBA political parties to finalize details for the presidential summit, which will take place on January 05 in the Venezuelan capital city.

Representatives of the participant political organizations informed that they will endorsed a statement against neo-colonialist attempts of the United Kingdom in the case of Argentina's Malvinas Islands.

"We have proposed, from PSUV (United Socialist Party of Venezuela), that we will give a very firm statement against the neo-colonial attempts of some powers; in this case, England," said Friday to a local television station the president of the Venezuelan Group in the Parlatino, Rodrigo Cabezas.
