Armed Force stopped being tool for oligarchy, General says

Caracas, 04 Feb. AVN.- Making a formal request to begin the parade to commemorate the 20 anniversary of the civil military uprising on February 4, 1992, commander of the Fourth Armored Division of the Garrison of Maracay, General Cliver Alcala Cordones, stated that the Bolivarian National Armed Force stopped being tool of the oligarchy.

"We are proud of belonging to a moral Bolivarian National Armed Force, always defending its sovereignty, which stopped being a tool of the oligarchy and empire to be now part of the people's revolution," Alcala Cordones said.

Gen. Alcala Cordones addressed the Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, who headed the event carried out in Los Proceres Avenue, in Caracas, and which is also attended by the Heads of State and Government of countries of the Bolivarian alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA).

"Extraordinary words, Mr. Cliver Alcala. Those are words that gather a complete feeling," said in turn President Hugo Chavez after hearing the General's speech.
