Caracas, 20 Dic. AVN.- Venezuelan airline Conviasa will open this Friday a flight to Barquisimeto, Lara state, as part of the expansion plans of connectivity both within and outside the country.
Conviasa president Luis Gustavo Graterol Caraballo, reported that the Jacinto Lara International Airport of Barquisimeto city will become one of the bridges connecting major cities of the country, making this west central state in number 14 where the airline operates.
"From this airport, flights will operate four times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) arriving from air terminals of Caracas, Maracaibo and Porlamar, offering about 2,500 seats a week," said the head of Conviasa, which is located in Maiquetia airport, in Vargas state.
Graterol Caraballo added that the route will be operated by a modern aircraft Embraer 190 of 104 seats, provided by the Bolivarian Government to strengthen connectivity plans within and outside the country.
He stressed that Conviasa has a significant participation in the transportation of passengers and cargo to the western region of the country and has recorded a remarkable growth of 67% in passenger traffic compared to 2012, with attendance close to 300,000 people so far this year.
