Caracas, 08 Feb. AVN.- The creation of a Russian-Venezuelan mixed venture for the exploration, exportation and distribution of oil from the Orinoco Oil Belt, "is one way to free us, consolidate our sovereignty and head towards more development for our country," said Deputy Enzo Cavallo, member of the Committee on Energy and Mining of the National Assembly.
The mixed venture will be created between the Russian company GAZPROM and the Venezuelan oil state company PDVSA. Cavallo recalled that, as established by laws, Venezuela will hold 60% of the shares and the Russian company the remaining 40%.
"We need to become mobile teachers to counter that demonizing opposition media permanently distorting what is being done in the country. They just follow the orders from the US empire, which is looking for copying the same strategy implemented in Libya and Syria and that they are trying to do against Iran (...) Therefore, we have to be on the alert in Venezuela," he said.
Cavallo highlighted that opposition leaders are proposing a backwardness process for PDVSA, because "they are always against benefits for the people. They do not want resources controlled by people, but capitalists."
He explained that Venezuela's partnership with Russia, China and Brazil is a guarantee for the people, "a way to be free from international organs and a method to consolidate (domestic) strategies on energy more in accordance to worldwide reality."
The creation of the mixed venture between Russia and Venezuela was approved on Tuesday by the plenary of the National Assembly.
