Maduro met Monday with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister


Caracas, 05 Ene. AVN.- Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro was received Monday by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Alexeevich Ryabkov, Venezuelan Minister for Communication and Information, Jacqueline Faria, reported via Twitter.

During the meeting, the president expressed "solidarity with the government of President Putin against destabilizing plans promoted by the United States," Faria said.

Faria also said that Venezuelan president's visit to Russia is prior to an international tour that will take him to China and nations of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

"Technical stop in Moscow at the beginning of this presidential tour of China, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Algeria," she posted to her Twitter account @JacquelinePSUV, including photos of the meeting, which was also attended by Minister for Economy, Finance and Public Banking, Rodolfo Marco Torres, and Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez.

President Maduro began Sunday this trip to the People's Republic of China to strengthen bilateral relations with the aim of maximizing diplomatic, economic and commercial cooperation with this nation.

During his visit to China, the National President will meet with President Xi Jinping and will also attend the first China-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) ministerial forum, to be held on 8 and 9 January in Beijing.

Subsequently, the Head of State will visit countries of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), in order to address falling of oil prices.
