Road transport restored in Venezuela's eastern highway

Caracas, 28 Ago. AVN.- On Monday afternoon was restored the road transport to Venezuela's eastern states after a bridge collapse last August 15 forcing temporary closure.

Land Transport Minister Juan Garcia Toussaintt explained that road transport would be provisionally reopened to the east for light and heavy vehicles up to 35 tons.

"Those which weight more than 35 tons will have to take the highway of the plains. We will not lower our guard (in view of heavy rainfalls) and we will continue working hard," he said in local television on Monday afternoon.

In addition, the Minister informed that the new bridge to replace that which collapsed would be ready in about two months.
