Venezuela decides to close Consulate General in Miami

Caracas, 13 Ene. AVN.- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez informed Friday that he has decided to close administratively the office of the Consulate General in Miami, United States, after the Government of that country expelled Venezuela's Consul General Livia Acosta from that North American city.

"We will close it administratively, while we assess the situation because it is unfair, worrying and immoral for Mrs Consul, who was fulfilling her duty," said the Venezuelan President.

President Chavez said the statements in the seat of the National Assembly, where he attended to render account of his administration during the year 2011.
