Venezuelan Government reaffirms commitment with victims of rains

Caracas, 08 Feb. AVN.- Venezuelan Executive Vice-President Elias Jaua reaffirmed that the National Government is committed to guarantee a decent house for each family living in makeshift shelters since relentless rainfalls affected their homes between 2010 and 2011.

"We know it is not easy to live in a shelter. We have done our best efforts to ensure minimal conditions of wellbeing, habitat. We know that families are waiting for a definitive solution, which is that we give them an apartment, but we also ask for conscience and patience," Jaua said.

During a Cabinet meeting held last Tuesday in the Miraflores Presidential Palace, Caracas, members of the Executive discussed the implementation of an informative program on behalf of the Superior Organ on Housing, which will start working this week. Through it, families may get acquainted with the housing complex they will move in and the date of its completion.

Supporting 4-F, ALBA Summit

In the Cabinet, Ministers reviewed the acts carried out to commemorate the 20th anniversary of February 4th, 1992, when Hugo Chavez headed a civil-military rebellion against the neoliberal government of Carlos Andres Perez.

"We congratulate the Venezuelan people for the stunning popular mobilization and our Armed Force, for the magnificent, patriotic and committed parade that reaffirmed once again people's unity with their Armed Force to continue building the good homeland." Jaua said.

He added that February 4 of 1992 was "the result of a nation that decided to build their own path" and he reaffirmed the commitment to continue working for national vindication.

About the 11 Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) in Caracas, last Feb. 4-5, he highlighted the accords signed during that journey since they are instruments to build a space of peace in the region.

Loans

The Cabinet also passed loans to boost projects of the ministries of Defense and Electricity, as well as to improve the urban complex Parque Central, downtown Caracas.

The Defense Ministry will receive 350 million 956 thousand 135 bolivares to begin repair works in the fort Guaicaipuro, central state of Miranda.

An additional loan for the current budget of expenses of the Ministry of Electricity by 1.4 billion bolivares, aimed at financing two projects to incorporate more megawatts to an hydroelectric power plant and a thermoelectric power station in central and west Venezuela.

Meanwhile, a loan of 199 million bolivares was allocated to the office of the Vice-President to install 35 commercial and residential elevators in the complex Parque Central.

All these resources had been previously passed by the National Assembly during its ordinary session of last Tuesday.
