Caracas, 02 Sep. AVN .- Venezuelan bicentenary security plan Dibise evidences a great progress in matters of fighting crime in Caracas, different to regional entities such as Miranda, Tachira and Zulia, which record the highest homicide rate due to the lack of collaboration of its governors, all of them foes of the National Government.

The information was given by the Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, at the end of a meeting of the high-level committee on security.

“We have noticed great progress of Dibise on Caracas and most of Venezuelan states. We have to underscore that homicide rates continue being high in Miranda, Tachira and Zulia states, where police bodies are in charge of opposition governments that do not work conjointly with state-run security bodies,” he expressed.

Similarly, Jaua informed that police and intelligence works will be reinforced in some areas in charge of the regional government but in which police presence is absolutely void.

“We hope these regional governments (Miranda, Zulia and Tachira) will resolve to work for the public security of their citizens because it is part of their area of responsibility (...) But while decide to do it, people cannot wait. Thus, the National Executive will reinforce security services in these states,” he stressed.

Moreover, he emphasized that public security is crucial for the Bolivarian Revolution.

In this connection, the Vice President expressed that state-run security bodies continue dismantling criminal organizations.

Dibise was implemented last March 01 in 36 municipalities around the country, which at that time focused 75% of the crimes recorded nationwide and 78.76% of homicides.

These 36 municipalities are located in Caracas and in the states Miranda, Aragua, Carabobo, Lara, Zulia, Tachira, Barinas, Bolivar and Anzoategui.

Subsequently, on June 20, the Ministry of Interior and Justice implemented a similar plan in the three municipalities of the insular state Nueva Esparta: Marino, Diaz and Garcia, which also receive funds from the State.
