Venezuelan Government boosts productive sector adjusting produce prices

Caracas, 10 Sep. AVN .- The Government of Venezuela made adjustments in the prices of rice, corn and sunflower to strengthen the agricultural sector; support small and medium producers; and guarantee the agrifood security and sovereignty in the country.

The information was given this Thursday by the Vice President of Venezuela Elias Jaua during the activation of a dredge in Portuguesa state, central western Venezuela.

The new prices came into force since September 1, 2010, and it will favor producers with an increase of 29% fo rice, corn 28% and sunflower 26%.

The adjustment in the prices will favor farmers in the country and belongs to the plan executed by the Government to boost the domestic productive sector.
