Diosdado Cabello: Turnout in constituent electoral dry run overflowed polling stations

Caracas, 16 Jul. AVN.- The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and constitutional candidate, Diosdado Cabello, confirmed the massive participation in the constituent electoral dry run that takes place this Sunday throughout the country.

In statements to state media, he said that by talking with nine governors he confirmed the massive presence of voters in the polling centers that have been authorized by the National Electoral Council (CNE) for this mock election.

From the Bolivarian University of Venezuela in Maturin, Monagas state, he described the activity as "a great popular and revolutionary party that contrasts with the violence, hatred, crime and terrorism of some sectors of the opposition."

In this state, 16 polling centers and 67 voting tables were set up by the CNE.

"I have just spoken to several governors and all polling stations have been overflowed. The National Constituent Assembly is not going to close the doors to anyone, on the contrary, it will open the doors to a future Venezuela of peace and tranquility, and where we are all equal," he said.

Cabello warned that once again the opposition "tries the hateful division of the poor and rich."

On the plebiscite convened by an opposition sector, the Socialist leader said that it is an internal consultation "which has no legal or binding effect. It is a mechanism to continue to deceive people."

He ratified that one of the objectives of the National Constituent Assembly will be to prevent supranational organisms from interfering in the internal affairs of Venezuela.

Monagas state governor, Yelitze Santaella, reported that three pilot centers were activated this Sunday in this state.

"The people have embraced this peace process led by the government of President Nicolas Maduro and express their confidence in the revolution," he said.
